Benton is the newest member of our team. His passion for teaching is what drove him to Financial Advising. He has a deep-rooted desire to teach all that are willing to listen and help all that are seeking guidance.
With a focus on analysis, he utilizes technology to build models to include newer aged investment vehicles, while still implementing the tried-and-true processes of financial planning. He believes that together, these two methods help achieve higher probability for clients to hit their financial goals.
Benton worked for Discover Financial Services before beginning a career as a Helicopter Pilot. He graduated from Utah Helicopter with his CFII in 2011. He flew as a commercial helicopter pilot for over 10 years, during which time he obtained his Gold Seal Flight Instructor Certificate and his ATP.
His previous work experience sparked his love for teaching and taught him how to manage risk, but it is the intimate knowledge he gained from managing his own personal investments that sets him apart. He and his wife own real estate, real assets, stakes in limited partnerships, and have dealt with the ins and outs of employee stock options and employee stock purchase plans. This broad exposure gives Benton a big picture view when building financial plans.
Benton enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, backpacking, traveling, and golfing. Above all, he cherishes relationships, none more than the relationship he has with his wife!
